Exelon heads pro bono legal clinic for low-income seniors

More than 70 attorneys and support staff from Constellation, BGE and parent company Exelon teamed with representatives from McGuireWoods LLP and the Senior Legal Services (SLS) division of the Bar Association of Baltimore City June 13 at Westminster Hall in west Baltimore to provide pro bono estate planning services to upwards of 40 low-income Baltimore seniors.

Throughout the day, seniors who otherwise may not have been able to access or afford legal services were paired with legal professionals to prepare and complete significant estate planning documents, including wills, financial powers of attorney and advanced medical directives.

Since 2013, Exelon, McGuireWoods and SLS have offered 18 legal clinics. The initiative has provided support for more than 300 clients and led to completion of more than 600 legal documents.
